Microsoft Email Archive Mac

Outlook 2016 for Mac includes a new feature called one-click archiving. This feature allows you to quickly move an item from your Inbox or another folder to an archive folder. An archived item (or items) remains accessible, but doesn't clutter your Inbox.

Archive messages with a single click

You can archive messages in any of the email accounts that you've connected to Outlook 2016 for Mac. These include Exchange (version 2016 and later), Office 365, Outlook.com, Hotmail, iCloud, Google, and Yahoo!

  1. Choose one or more messages in your folder to archive.

  2. On the ribbon, choose Archive.

  3. As soon as you choose Archive, messages are immediately moved to the archive folder you've specified. If you archive a message by mistake, go to the archive folder and move the message back to your Inbox.

First time using the archive?

If you haven't previously set up an archive folder for an email account, you'll get this prompt:

Choose one of the following:

  1. Archive emails in Mail on Mac. You can store email messages in an Archive mailbox—for example, to quickly find them later when you’re ready to take action. Open Mail for me. In the Mail app on your Mac, select one or more messages.
  2. Archive messages with a single click. You can archive messages in any of the email accounts that you've connected to Outlook 2016 for Mac. These include Exchange (version 2016 and later), Office 365, Outlook.com, Hotmail, iCloud, Google, and Yahoo! Choose one or more messages in your folder to archive.
  • Continue. A new folder will appear in your folder list for that email account. You'll have to repeat this process to create an archive folder for each of your email accounts. The folder will be called Archive for Office 365, Outlook.com, Hotmail, iCloud, Google, and Yahoo! accounts. The archive folder for Gmail is called All Mail.

  • Choose another folder. Select any of your existing folders for the archive.

It is not looking promising, http://www.officeformac.com/ms/ProductForums/Outlook/1032. Seem good old M$ has done it again.

In the past I have exported or dropped and dragged messages from Entourage, then deleted the message from my mail. You can also drag them back in if you need.

Free Email Archive

I would set up a folder in my email, move all the messages I want to archive into this folder, then create a folder on my hard drive and drag the email folder into it. This will copy all the emails into the hard drive folder and then delete the folder from Outlook. I would image you can use the export feature to accomplish a similar thing.
